Staff Reporter: Environment, forest and Climate Change Minister Saber Hossain Chowdhury said, Nordic countries will strengthen cooperation on environmental protection, climate change action and sustainable development. The minister also asked to further enhance collaboration in sharing technologies for climate adaptation and mitigation, promoting renewable energy sources, and supporting Bangladesh's efforts to implement its Climate plans.

Environment Minister said these while the ambassadors of the Nordic countries – Alexandra Berg von Linde, Ambassador of Sweden in Bangladesh, Dhaka; Espen Rikter-Svendsen, Ambassador of Norway in Bangladesh, Dhaka; Christian Brix Moller and Ambassador of Denmark in Bangladesh, Dhaka – met with Saber Hossain Chowdhury, Minister for Environment, Forest and Climate Change, at his office Monday. 

Environment Minister also asked to work together to conserve Bangladesh's rich biodiversity and address challenges such as deforestation. He also asked to share expertise and technologies for air, water, and soil pollution control, and promoting waste management solutions. 

The Nordic ambassadors reiterated their commitment to supporting Bangladesh's environmental goals and expressed their interest in exploring new avenues for collaboration. They commended Bangladesh's leadership in addressing climate change and its efforts to promote sustainable development. They also invited Environment Minister in Nordic day on the next month.

The meeting concluded with a renewed commitment from both sides to work together to address environmental challenges and build a more sustainable future for Bangladesh and the world. 

Later a United Nations Office for Project Services delegation led by Country Manager,  Bangladesh Sudhir Muralidharan, called on Environment minister and discussed on different UN ongoing projects and how they can work together with the ministry.
