President reaffirms unflinching support for Palestinians

Staff Reporter: Bangladesh has strongly condemned and protested the indiscriminate killing of innocent civilians, including women and children, in Palestine by the Israeli occupation forces, President Mohammed Shahabuddin said.

He made the remarks when Palestine ambassador to Bangladesh Yousef S.Y. Ramadan paid a courtesy call on him at Bangabhaban here today.

Later, President's Press Secretary Md Joynal Abedin briefed newsmen.

The President said Bangladesh has always played a strong role in resolving the problem of Palestine in various international forums, including United Nations (UN), Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Non-Aligned Movement (NAM).

This support for the Palestinians would continue in the days to come, President Shahabuddin added.

During the meeting, the ambassador thanked the people of Bangladesh for their sympathy and cooperation with the people of Palestine.

President's Office senior secretary Nasimul Ghani, Military Secretary Major General Mohammad Adil Chowdhury and Press Secretary Md Joynal Abedin were also present there.
