Mosharraf Hossain appointed new NSI director

Desk Report: Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Barrister Mohammad Mosharraf Hossain has been appointed as the new Director of the National Security Intelligence (NSI), following the removal of DIG Saleh Mohammad Tanveer from the position.

DIG Barrister Mohammad Mosharraf Hossain, is currently stationed at the Police Academy in Sarada, Rajshahi.

This was announced through two separate notifications issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs on Thursday.

The notification, signed by Mahbubur Rahman Sheikh, additional secretary of the Police Branch-1 of the Ministry of Home Affairs, states that the deputation order of DIG Saleh Mohammad Tanveer to the NSI has been canceled.

It requests necessary arrangements for his reassignment to the Public Security Division.

Meanwhile, the notification also requests the necessary arrangements for appointing or transferring DIG Barrister Mohammad Mosharraf Hossain, who has been promoted to the position of DIG as a Supernumerary Officer, to the role of DIG at the NS.
