House rents rise 7.1% in Portugal
Desk Report: House rents per square meter increased by 7.1% in April compared to the same month in 2023, when in the previous month the increase was 6.9%, and with all regions showing year-on-year growth in Portugal.
According to the National Statistics Institute (INE), in April "all regions showed positive year-on-year variations in housing rents, with Lisbon registering the most intense increase (7.4%)".
In monthly terms, the average value of housing rent per square meter registered a variation of 0.6% (0.9% in the previous month).
The region with the highest positive monthly variation was Lisbon (0.7%), with no region being observed with a negative variation in the respective average value of housing rents.
